BIOGRAPHY: Elizabeth Robinson (Robertson) Creech, widow of John Creech of North Carolina, was probably the first of her line to come to Kentucky. Elizabeth Robinson (Robertson) Creech and her sons John, Jonathan, and Elijah Creech, were apparently accompanied on their trek westward by her brother Thomas Robinson (Robertson), by her sister Easter, and by Stephen Creech. This group remained for a while in Montgomery Co, NC; but they were on Lee County, VA, tax lists by 1799. Subsequent to this, the first son, John, migrated into Kentucky and settled in Harlan County. Eventually, John was followed by his brother, Jonathan.

WILL: The estate of Jonathan Creech was not settled for many years, but his assets were appraised after his death in Lee County, Virginia, in 1852.
On the 25th of September, 1854, Henry Creech, son of Jonathan Creech and Jane Blair, made a deed to give Jonathan's property, including the part inherited from Thomas Robinson (Robertson), brother of the mother of John, Elijah, and Jonathan Creech, to William Henry Harrison Sproul; but this effort did not speed up the
settlement of Jonathan's estate. This deed is on file in Lee County, Book 12, p.243.
A final property settlement was made in Harlan County, Kentucky, on 22 Nov 1867, Book G, p.495, and it was signed by the following heirs:
E. C. Kilbourne, Polly Creech, Jane McKnight, Sarah Creech, Ira Creech, William McKnight, Elizabeth Sturgill, Elisha Creech, John G. McKnight, Hugh Sturgill, Cloanna Stidham, Celia McKnight,
Henry Creech, Samuel Stidham, William Richmond Sr, Jonathan Creech, Randolph Day, W.S. Kilbournem, Alexander Creech, Nancy Day, George Kilbourne, Silas Creech, Charles Blair, Sarah Kilbourne, John Creech Sally Blair, M.V. Kilbourne

Deceased prior to the 1867 settlement were Mortimore Creech, Elizabeth Creech Kilbourne, Mary Creech Richmond, Hiram Creech, John Creech, Jonathan Creech, Jr, and Rachel Creech.

The appraisal of the Jonathan Creech estate was made in 1852 and showed the total value of the estate to be $11,840.60. The estate was as follows: Notes owed by Elijah Creech, Ira Creech, Henry Creech, Silas Creech, Mortimore Creech, Elisha Creech, Hiram Creech, William Creech, and Mahal Wells, $1,766.73; value of slaves and farm improvements, $8,476.76; value of household items and improvements, $1,597.11; total appraised value, $11,840.60.
